Amish art tends to rely on the use of their hands and is always disguised as a useful and practical object. Many of the women in Amish communities turn to sewing, not only because they manufacture their own clothing, but also as a calming pastime. Without modern forms of entertainment, evening hours are spent on other forms of entertainment, like quilting.
