There are approximately 6 to 7 hand quilted stitches per inch trailing throughout this lovely Windblown Rose Amish Quilt, which comes from the heart of the Amish and Old Order Mennonites in Lancaster County PA. The maroon and burgundy roses with their green leaves contrast beautifully against the ivory white fabric.
Dotted throughout the rural landscape are windmills, used to pump water from the stream to the garden. Wind is a part of life, and is an energy that is harnessed and used to help with the daily chores of farm life. Our quilter has taken the beauty of the roses and let the wind rush through them.
