This Tumbling Blocks Patchwork Amish Quilt measures 101 x 111 inches to fit your King or Queen size bed. It was handquilted and is from Lancaster County Pennsylvania. There are approximately 6 handquilted stitches per inch on this Tumbling Blocks Amish Quilt. Browns and tans are used in the nine patch block that is tumbling down the quilt. The background fabric is different shades of tan and toffee, all brown shades of color.
The Amish Quilter helps to supplement her husbands farm income with quilting and selling her homemade jams and pies. Since the larger meal is eaten at noon, she can settle back into quilting again in late afternoon, and her view from the window above her quilting frame is of their farm with her husband and sons driving the horse drawn plow through the fields.
