This quilt was made by a quilting bee held at Janice H home. Janice is known for having youth quilting bees, where the local plain youth can come and help on the quilt that will benefit their one room school. You can tell it was handquilted at a Quilting Bee when you see the varied hand quilting that is displayed on it. The average hand quilted stitching is very large and long and is approximately  \u003cem\u003e4-5 handquilted stitches\u003c\/em\u003e per inch. The sawtooth edge is something taht takes a lot of time to do, so you will not find many quilts with this edging on them. We even took a photo for you of the corner so you can see the sawtooth points up close. Remember, this quilt is a beautiful quilt even though the stitches are large. Note, the quilt is almost square, so it may not tuck under your pillows.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eA product of a real old fashioned quilting bee, you can see small areas of quilting that reflect the work done by a young girl (with probably around 4-5 handquilted stitches per inch).  Remember, she is quilting this to help her school, which is a small one room schoolhouse, complete with out house in the back.
