This stunning Dutch Colors Amish Mini Squares Diamond Quilt was pieced by my neighbor Mary S, who is an Amish woman here in Franklin County PA. She is widowed, and lives with her daughter in a home they have renovated from an old chicken house on her sons farm. She and her daughter are very very plain, yet she always greets me with joy and a huge smile when I come to visit. Marys extremely small squares, each measuring about 1/2 inch, is a technical wonder, especially when you consider that she is sewing on a tredle machine, with her legs giving the power for the sewing machine.

This spectacular Amish Quilt is pieced in the typical Dutch colors of deep dark navy - almost black - contrasted with blues and cranberry. It will make a wonderful and breathtaking focal point in your home. It measures approximately 99 x 109 inches to fit your Double or Queen size bed. A beautiful quilt with the Amish Diamonds composed of tiny mini postage stamp squares measuring approximately 1/2 inch. Mattie W, another Amish neighbor of mine, handquilted this masterpiece in fine, even handquilted stitching that measures about 6 handquilted stitches per inch.
