This Colorful Nine Patch Amish Patchwork Wall Hanging Quilt measures approximately 36 inches square, almost. On a background light patterned ivory fabric, the alternating colorful nine patches are displayed in the classic way Amish treat color, and that is in fun unexpected bursts of delight, much like finding a colorful cardinal on a tree limb. Colorful Nine Patch Wall Hanging was hand quilted by Naomi S, a young Amish quilter who lives just a few miles from us. Naomi has wonderful fine quilting stitches, but she still needs some time to perfect her piecing and binding skills. As you can see, this wall hanging does NOT hang square, and on the back of the wallhanging, the backing fabric is hand stitched in one place near the edge to repair a tear in the back fabric. Colorful Nine Patch is a youthful endeavor by a promising quilter, and Naomis hand quilted stitching measures about 7-8 stitches per inch. Note: You will need to sew a sleeve or tabs on the back for easy hanging.
