It was handquilted, and is from Central Pennsylvania, in an area where the Old Order Mennonite and Amish women tend their kitchen gardens and enjoy a slower pace of life. The Basket of Grapes Applique Amish Quilt has approximately 7 handquilted stitches per inch. The plum and lavender colored grapes have green embroidered tendrills trailing from them, and the stems of the grapes are all hand embroidered. This is a bright and beautiful quilt, celebrating the bounty of the vine. This Amish Quilt is a Level Three Certification quilt (click here for more info). It is from Lancaster County PA.
